The vines of this cuvée grow just above the troglodye site of La Grande Vignolle. Duf for centuries by man, from simple dwellings to noble lodgings, it is today the showcase of the wines produced by Domaine Filliatreau.
A cuvée made from vines around 40 years old on a plot renowned since several centuries. This unfiltered cuvée will be fine at least a year and a half after the vintage.
This long aging Saumur Champigny, is also easily appreciated when young. It loves dishes such as cassoulet, confits or chicken.
On the nose, the red fruits are revealed. On the palate, its aromas will develop: cherry, red fruits, strawberry, notes of graphite and plum. Full bodied and gourmet, it is a wine that can be consumed in its youth but which really expresses itself after two or three years.
Plots of 40 years old vines cultivated organically since 2017, located in Turquant. Which overlook the Loire and the Route des Rois between Saumur and Chinon. High limestone concentration. 100 % Cabernet franc – pruning Guyot Val de Loire
The harvest is entirely manual. Sorted out by hand in the winery the grapes are 100% destemmed and put in stainless steel tanks. About 15 days of maceration between 22°C and 25°C to preserve the fruit. No filtration is carried out for more concentration.
From 2021 on, alle the vintages are certified Organic.
